Thursday the 19th of November 2024 marked the last day of participation in the accelerator program of QAI Ventures . The ZuriQ founders spent four weeks throughout the year on-site at UptownBasel sharpening their business acumen within the context of the rapidly growing quantum industry. They learned from leaders such as IQM co-founder Kuan Yen Tan about building high-performance teams, about presenting and public speaking from TV presenter Lukas Ninck, and peered behind the scenes of the investment world with venture capitalist Michael Jackson. Most importantly, they met with like-minded founders from the six other startups in the program, sharing with each other their challenges, struggles and achievements all while laying fertile ground for future collaborations.

On the final day itself, the CEO Pavel Hrmo pitched the vision of a scalable Penning trap quantum computer to the audience attending the demo event and allowed them to inspect and play around with the trap chips old and new at the ZuriQ booth. At the end of the day, the attendees were invited to vote for the startup of their choice by means of an investment of '250,000 QAI dollars' with ZuriQ proud to have raised the largest amount!

We at ZuriQ would like to thank the whole QAI Ventures team for their support and hospitality, and we look forward to closely work with them to grow the quantum ecosystem both in Switzerland and beyond.
